NWS Saint Tatiana ENPUB
In the 255th anniversary of the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill celebrated a liturgy at the Saint Tatiana's Chapel of the University. St. Tatiana is the patron saint of all students in Russia since the 18th century, and the patriarch dedicated his prayers to students, teachers and scientists.
St. Tatiana's Church was first consecrated in 1837 but was closed down one year after the Bolshevik Revolution and transformed into a theatre. It was consecrated again as a church only in 1995.
Rector V.A. Sadovnichy suggested that a treaty should be concluded between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Council of Rectors, so that they could start collaboration "aimed at a renewal of the moral basis in science and education" and raise youth in Orthodox traditions.
