The Gregorian Chorus of Chiaravalle Abbey [4:17]
Dominus Illuminatio Mea is a Catholic Mass sung in the tradition of the Gregorian chant as developed in the Ambrosian rite of the Dioceses of Milan (Italy) by the Schola Gregoriana Mediolanensis, directed by Master Giovanni Vianini, a choir composed of 20 males and 20 female singers.
The wonderful environment of the Romanic Abbey of Chiaravalle – near Milan – and the Renaissance paintings of Bernardo Luini, create a unique atmosphere you can enjoy in the clip, and, if you like it, asking for the video of the full Concert.
Schola Gregoriana Mediolanensis
The tradition of the Gregorian chant is very old; since apostolic times it has become the most widely dispersed religious chant and represents the spiritual heritage that continues through many centuries up until and including its use in the very active centres of monastic life and theological and musical studies of St Gallen, Fulda, Nonantola, and Montecassino.
